Your guide to tech awards 2018

Do you want to be an award winner?

As you put together your comms plans for the coming twelve months, now is the time to consider whether an accolade or award-win is just what your business needs to give it the edge on your competitors.

Full disclaimer: winning professional awards is not essential. Many – very successful – businesses, never receive any awards for their achievements. Not only that, but awards can be expensive to enter, with very time-consuming entry processes. So why bother? Well, there are a number of reasons.

Here’s the big one: research from the University of Western Ontario and Georgia Institute of Technology found that winners of high-quality business awards had 37% more sales growth and 44% higher stock return than their peers.

And that’s not the only reason. An award win can also increase brand recognition, assist recruitment and HR, gain PR exposure, provide a good source of blog and social media content, and provide your business with recognition as an authority.

Of course, with the potential time and expense associated with winning awards, you want to make sure the awards you’re entering are targeted and appropriate. Not just so you have the best chance of winning, but so your business can reap the maximum benefits of any win or shortlisting. To help, we’ve compiled this guide to tech awards – all of which are still open for entries in 2018.

Register your interest and you’ll be notified when the awards open!

Unfortunately, picking which tech awards to apply for is the easy bit. When it comes to writing your application, remember to use lots of evidence to back up your claim. Numbers and measurable KPIs are good but don’t forget to add some colour using detailed case studies, too. Treat it like a job application: the website should make it clear what the judges are looking for. You just need to make it clear to the judges that you have what they’re looking for.

And if you get stuck, feel free to get in touch. Say hello on Twitter, or send us a note to Good luck!
