Our approach

Our crisis PR training has been designed to help you (and your team) prepare for the unexpected; providing a clear, practical plan that you can rely on if the worst were to happen.

Incidents can occur at any time and take many forms, from cyber breaches and activist campaigns to social media storms or mishandled announcements.

Our goal is to help your team protect the brand you’ve worked hard to build. To achieve this, we’ll train your team to respond calmly and effectively to the various different types of comms crisis that might arise.

Crisis comms management PR training overview

In our bespoke half-day session, we’ll work directly with you and your leadership team to:

  • Identify where potential risks could emerge (internally, customers, partners, suppliers or the wider sector)
  • Map out roles and responsibilities so everyone knows exactly what to do
  • Build a clear response framework you can quickly activate in times of PR crisis
  • Draft tailored holding statements and key messages for the most likely situations
  • Create stakeholder contact plans to avoid missed communication at critical moments
  • Run realistic simulations to test and refine your approach.

FAQs

Whatever your team size, our workshop is designed for leadership teams and senior decision-makers responsible for managing risk, reputation and communications.

The Crisis Comms Planning Workshop is delivered as a half-day session, followed by a tailored crisis communications plan two weeks after your session (this will be in the form of a virtual meeting).

The workshop can be delivered either in person or remotely, depending on what works best for your team.

The session is delivered by our CEO & Founder Kirsty Jarvis and Client Services Director Corin Allen. Between them, they have over 40 years of experience in crisis communications, including social media hacks, accusations of fraud, protests and supply chain disruption.

A PR crisis can take many unexpected forms! Examples of major PR crises include hacks taking entire platforms offline (think of the Amazon Web Services outage and Jaguar Land Rover cyber attack), unexpected C-suite departures shaking investor confidence and hurting brand reputations (we all saw the kiss cam couple video from the Coldplay concert!).
